My new caving novella (currently free) is standing next to Hugh Howey’s Wool right now on Amazon! It reached #28 on the short science fiction reads, while Wool is #27. It is really exciting (and a great honor) to see my book next to people I admire. What a thrill!
If you don’t know Hugh Howey, he’s the creator of Wool, and a fantastic advocate for self-published authors (see authorearnings.com). He’s also a personal hero of mine, because of his work ethic and willingness to help others. He’s sold hundreds of thousands of copies. And it all started with one little novella, that he later expanded after it got some reads on Amazon. Sort of like exactly where I am now!!
PS: One of my favorite quotes comes from him, something I hand wrote, then taped to my computer so I look at it every day: “To be successful, you need a period of long term strategic thinking, followed by an implementable plan, and the willingness to tolerate an insane run of failures before you succeed.“
